Hello Bear Friends,
This June I spent a glorious two full days viewing bears from a zodiac in the Khutzemateen with 7 other ‘like-minded’ nature lovers. Bear and people heaven! Just cameras, binoculars, pepper and bug spray…and no guns!!! My second visit to the ‘Khutz’ after 9 long years has made my summer and year! Thank you so much to the wonderful crew of Ocean Light II!
I now feel refreshed and reinvigorated to go forward and continue to help 6 of 8 species of bears stay ‘alive (though some rehabbed) and wild’ in B.C. and in other parts of the world where bears are seriously, seriously in peril and in need of our lobby efforts and funding (I personally concentrate on: Brown,Sun,Moon,Spectacled,Sloth Bears and orphaned Black Bears though much work has to be done for polar and panda bears)
We must one day put an end to the relentless prosecution, trophy killing and demonization of all bears- everywhere! “If we have the will, we can find a way!”

Here are a few photos from my little camera of what I now hold as memories in my heart and brain from a trip to ‘Canada’s only Grizzly Bear Sanctuary’ where the bears can be bears and don’t have to fear their human visitors.
